  • Tin Can Lanterns

This craft is a good one for the brownies "tool girl" badge. It lets them get used a hammer. Older girls would be able to do much more complex designs. If you google tin punch designs you can find lots of ideas.

    1. Clean can by soaking in hot, soapy water. Making sure to remove all of the label and glue. Many recycling depots are really helpful about gathering the cans for you. Bring them cookies as a thank-you.

  • Hot Sandwich in a Milk Carton

    • Save cardboard milk cartons (the 1 litre ones) coated with wax.

    • Light the carton on fire and let it burn down

  • Hermie the Wormie Trader

This SWAP is easy to make. Just a silk flower leaf, small pompoms, google eyes and a brooch pin.

The pompoms won't stick on with regular glue so if you are doing this with Sparks you need to let them pick the colors and have the leaders assemble them with the glue guns.

  • Fleece Knotty Owl

I admit this was a tough one to prep — we cut enough fleece for 50 of these and my co-leader and I had blisters by the end. I would suggest finding some Pathfinder volunteers if you want to do a bunch.

I originally thought we would leave these unstuffed and the kids could put their laundry inside but it would probably be better to recycle some old pillows.

The sewing on of buttons was quite tough for girls and needed supervision. This has to...
